Zonta has been busy fundraising
THE Zonta Club of Stanthorpe has been busy raising a commendable amount of money for their charities over these past few months, while having fun in the process.
In August the club held a sold-out movie night, complete with food and wine at the Arcadia Cinema.
Everyone donated lovely raffle prizes which helped raise almost $2000.
The club put together birthing kits with help from the Girl Guides, which were sent to Africa to be distributed to those many women who don't have access to medical facilities.
This is a small but satisfying effort Zonta tries to do often.
On September 21 there was the very successful Combined Service Clubs' Drought Relief Fundraiser, and a week later Zonta had another stall in the piazza promoting its Pink Dinner.
Zonta contributed to the event by organising the eye-catching table decorations, selling raffle tickets and - like Rotary and Lions - donating money, labour and time to the very worthy cause.
The next event is the immensely popular Pink Dinner which is on Friday, October 12, this year and sold out in a matter of weeks.
This event is proving so popular the club is considering moving it to a larger venue; however, that has yet to be finalised.
In the meantime, this year guests will have their usual delightful evening at the Wine College, with delicious food and wine, lots of prizes and raffles, auctions, entertaining speakers and more.
The Zonta Club would like to thank everyone who helps the club in any way in all its various fundraising activities.
Without such generous ongoing support Zonta would not be able to do a fraction of what they do.
