Zonta complete birthing kits quick smart

THERE was no mucking around last Sunday as the Zonta Club of Dalby assembled their birthing kits in record time.

The 600 kits were completed in just over one hour, when the group were expecting the task to take about three hours to complete.

A group of 35 people attended the event, comprising 13 Girl Guides, seven Zontains and 15 members of the community.

The kits will now be sent to Adelaide before they are flown to countries such as Ethiopia, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Kenya and Papua New Guinea.

Zonta president Denise Jeitz said it was great to see plenty of people showing their support.

"What a great response from the community and the Girl Guides, to get 35 people really is wonderful,” Mrs Jeitz said.

"We may look at increasing the kit number in the future.”

The Zonta Club of Dalby's next event will be the charity screening of the movie The Woman in Black at the Dalby Cinema on October 25.
