According to astronomers, it will appear full for the next several nights, because it will remain more or less opposite the sun.
June's full moon is dubbed "strawberry" because Native American tribes knew it as a signal to gather ripening fruit during the short growing season, according to Almanac.com.

But in other areas of the world, where it's not a time to harvest, June's moon carries different monikers. In Europe, it's called a "rose moon", but also goes by the names "honey moon" or "mead moon."
It's been dubbed a honey moon because it stays close to the horizon in June, and that makes it appear more amber and also larger.
We asked readers to show us their moon photos, here's the best of the bunch.
