Your hotspot to refuel and relax at South Bank
THE all-new South Bank Roadhouse is the major heavy vehicle display, entertainment and networking hub at this year's event.
Restaurants and bars throughout the Stanley St Plaza and Little Stanley St precinct have decided to rename the area for the duration of the truck show.
They'll be rolling out the proverbial red carpet for you and your guests to create a festival atmosphere including free live entertainment. Many will be offering special deals for truck show visitors.
Little Stanley St and Stanley St Plaza will also be closed to traffic for a major display of trucks and trailers as an estimated 30,000 fans descend on the area.
Here is a taste of what to expect at two of the most popular roadhouse venues:
South Bank Beer Garden is the home of "beer-thirty”, located only a few sandy footprints from Brisbane's iconic Streets Beach, offering unsurpassed views of the Brisbane River and city skyline.
The venue takes the term "Beer Garden” literally, with an abundance of live plants and hanging greenery, taking you far away from the hustle and bustle of South Brisbane. Beer lovers rejoice, because you're sure to love the 14 taps of Australian and International beers on offer.
Will it be a schmiddy, pint or jug? If beer isn't your thing, you're sure to be impressed by the wide selection of wines, spirits and cocktails, including the iconic Boba Bellini. Catch live music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from the early afternoon 'til late.
Hungry? South Bank Beer Garden is the perfect spot to enjoy a long lunch or a knock off after a busy day at the Brisbane Truck Show. The menu is all about delicious, unpretentious meals, featuring classics including the signature wings, the Big Ass Beach Burger and the BBQ Pit, where you can choose from a huge variety of mouthwatering steaks.
Don't miss out on the $20 Chicken Schnitzel with a house beer or wine, available exclusively during the Brisbane Truck Show. If you love a sweet deal, you also can't go past Lucky Hour on Friday from 4-6pm, where the team offers a selection of the signature wings for free.
Inspired by the holiday beach shack from your childhood, the venue oozes a laid-back, relaxed atmosphere with incredible views of Streets Beach, the Brisbane river and the City skyline.
Perfect for families and large groups, Southbeach Social encourages you to sip, savour and socialise. The modern Australian menu, featuring fresh seafood, stone-fired pizzas and delicious share plates, has something for everyone, including the kids, who will love the extensive kids' menu and the cosy lounge area.
You'll find an impressive selection of beers and wines, however the cocktails are the real star of the show. Will it be a tropical Pina Colada or maybe the Sparkling Lychee and Lavender cocktail?
Available exclusively during the Brisbane Truck Show is the $20 200g rump steak with chips and slaw and a choice of house beer or wine. Can't go past that great deal!
If you've got a big group, head to Southbeach Social for Social Hour from 4-6pm, where all groups of eight or more will receive two free stone-fired pizzas to enjoy.
The delicious pizzas, including Prosciutto, Prawn and even a Smashed Avo Vegan option, are sure to impress your group and kick-start the good times into the night.
Southbeach Social also offers a delicious breakfast on the weekend from 8am.
You'll find your favourite classics, including Eggs Benny and a Big Breakfast, or may be surprised with new favourites like the Coconut Ricotta Pancakes or the Brunch Salad.
So whether it's breakfast, lunch, dinner or drinks, Southbeach Social is the place to share fun experiences with your friends and family.
