Young actors set for a treat

YOUNG actors in the North Burnett are set for a treat with experienced actress Seraya Young coming to present an acting workshop.

The workshop will take place on August 18 in Gayndah and is open to the youth of the North Burnett aged between 8 -20.

Rachel Koster said that bookings are coming in fast and organisers only have a handful of places left.

"There are plenty of budding young actors in this region so it is great to see the enthusiasm continuing,” Ms Koster said.

During this interactive workshop attendess will cover character work, truth in performance, improvisation and script work.

This workshop has been made available at no cost to those attending via funding from the Regional Arts Development Fund through North Burnett Regional Council.

Ms Koster said that this workshop follows on from a Storyteller's Project which is taking place at Eidsvold school throughout August, where students are penning thier own scripts under the guidence of writer Jill Slack and performing them during Seraya's visit in August.

Seraya Young has had comprehensive acting training that includes character building, mask work, improvisation, voice and dialects, movement, Alexander Technique, dance, stage combat, script analysis and many more.
