Women's eight through to final

AUSTRALIA has progressed to the women's eight rowing final after finishing third in the repechage heat behind the Netherlands and Romania at Eton Dorney.

Rowing under overcast skies at the purpose-built venue, the Australian team finished more than three minutes behind winners the Netherlands in a time of 6:18:63.

That was enough to qualify for Thursday's final along with host Great Britain, with Germany the sole team eliminated.
