Women now have a new part of their bodies to hate

INTRODUCING the mons pubis, the part of the body just above the labia.

Currently enjoying a moment in the spotlight due to its prominence on this picture of Sports Illustrated's cover model Hannah Davis, the mons pubis has been highlighted as the latest "body part for women to fix" by the New York Times's Jennifer Weiner.

Weiner's observation led to a think piece asking if the mons pubis was the new thigh gap - and now the Daily Mail has pointed out there is a surgical procedure aimed at tightening the area named the Monsplasty.

It is described as suitable for "any woman who is unhappy with the size, shape and excess skin of her Pubic Mons and desires to have it corrected".

Still worried?

This is the most pertinent line in Weiner's excellent piece.

Do you think Eleanor Roosevelt spent a lot of time worrying about her undercarriage? Does your mom?

We all have to draw a line in the sand, and mine is underneath the waistband of my Hanes cotton boy shorts.
