Will these zookeepers be the next Dance Boss?

A TEAM of Queensland zookeepers will compete to win a cash prize of $100,000 on Channel 7's upcoming series Dance Boss.

The Dannii Minogue-hosted show, which will feature Sharni Vinson, Adam Garcia and Timomatic on the judging panel, will see a group of people from the same workplace or profession dance off to claim the crown of Dance Boss Australia.

One team set to feature on the program includes six zookeepers who work at various parks and zoos from around Queensland such as Australia Zoo and Sea World.

Appropriately dubbed "The Zookeepers”, the group includes mammal keeper Emma, 26, and zookeepers Sam, 22, Melany, 24, and Candice, 28, as well as wildlife presenter and trainer Lauren, 26, and marine mammal trainer Richelle, 23.

The team said they wouldn't give a 9-to-5 office job a second look.

"We have the best job in the world,” Melany said.

"I really love the relationships we get to build with the animals. There's nothing quite like walking in and having an animal excited to see you.”

While they tend to creatures great and small during the day, at night it's their time to go wild on the dance floor.

"Although we all love our jobs, I think we all felt there was something missing,” Richelle said.

"I think Dance Boss gives us the best of both worlds.”

Lauren said the group shared two important passions - "animals and dancing” - which gave them strength as a team in the new show.

"We all gel and create so much fun within our group,” she said.
