Will Gary stay on track with his new year's resolution?

GARY Sargeant was with his partner Cora in a Kenworth 200 B-double ready to deliver fruit and vegetables from Brisbane.

They were parked at the BP Cluden on Townsville's outskirts and were ready to head out west along the Flinders Hwy.

"I will be dropping this lot off between Hughenden and Richmond and then will have a backload of produce from the Burdekin for southern Queensland,” Gary said.

The 48-year-old has been driving since he was 18 and loves the job.

When asked what was the worst road he gets along, Gary thought about it.

"I sneak up here along the back roads but I would have to say that the road from Moranbah to Blackwater is very rough,” he said.

Gary likes stopping off at the Bohle Puma when in Townsville.

"The meals are cheap and tasty and they have good showers and shade,” he said.

Gary said he didn't have much time for hobbies when off work but did barrack for the Cowboys during the NRL season.

His new year's resolution was to quit smoking, although he wasn't confident of being successful.
