The Wiggles get children dancing at birthday concert

A QUARTET wearing bright coloured skivvies has wiggled its way onto a Toowoomba stage.

As part of the 25th birthday Wiggle Town tour, Australia's most popular children's entertainment group performed in town today.

Throughout the tour, The Wiggles is visiting more than 100 places across the country.

The new era group is made up of Anthony Field, Simon Pryce, Lachlan Gillespie and Emma Watkins.

The members of the band performed for two sold-out crowds at The Concordia Lutheran College Martin Luther Campus.

About 1000 people were entertained over the two sessions.

Children sung and danced to the latest Wiggles songs such as Do the Propeller and Simon Says as well as Wiggle classics Hot Potato and Fruit Salad.

The group was joined by Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog and Henry the Octopus.

Ashleigh Wright and her two friends, along with their children, dressed up as members of the band.

"We just thought it would be a bit of fun. The kids dressed up, so we did too," she said.

Mrs Wright saw The Wiggles 20 years ago when she was a young child and now it was her son Billy's turn to enjoy the concert.

"He had a wonderful time. He was able to dance and sing along to all the songs," she said.

"His favourite song is Do the Propeller and he loves the Yellow Wiggle Emma."
