Why is Isaac called 'Whippet'?

WHEN young NT based driver Isaac Hinson said his nickname was "Whippet” I immediately asked why.

"Because I am tall and skinny and eat like a dog,” he replied.

The 23-year-old was parked up in his Mack Titan which had unloaded cattle in Townsville when I saw him. .

Isaac has been a truckie for four years and with Road Trains of Australia for three months.

"I travel all around Australia and especially like going to WA. On this 2000km trip I have delivered 132 head of cows to Townsville Port from Delamere Station in the NT,” he said.

He likes stopping at the Dunmurra Roadhouse south of Darwin and doesn't like travelling on the Duncan Hwy near the NT-WA border.

"I am originally from Bendigo in Victoria and hope to go fishing back home in the NT when I get time,” he said.

His favourite towns are Broome and Geraldton in WA.

"I find the people in those two towns are very friendly,” he said.
