Which roadhouse does Peter rate?
TRANSPORTING prestige cars around Australia in a Hino Euro5 and an enclosed tilt tray and slide is a job Peter Karger loves.
Peter works for Gold Coast-based Lay Low Towing and was in Townsville when Big Rigs saw him on May 1.
"I have brought up three cars from Victoria to Cairns and will be taking back a boat from Townsville to Brisbane and our trailers are totally enclosed and custom made,” he said.
Before starting this job last September, Peter worked for Hasting Deering at Weipa on western Cape York in the warehouse and stores.
Peter said he was delighted to deliver such prestigious and expensive cars.
"These are the pride and joy of the owners and people don't want them arriving covered in crap and ours are in an enclosed trailer,” he said.
"One Cobra I delivered had never even been in the rain before.
A Brisbane Broncos supporter in the NRL, Peter rates parts of the Bruce Highway between Ingham and Cairns as amongst the worst.
Outside work, Peter is into Powercruise Car Racing with events held around the country.
His favourite roadhouse is the Eastern Creek BP in New South Wales.
