Coffs offers value for money as a tourist destination

WHEN it comes to being a value for money destination, Coffs Harbour ranks up there with the best of them.

The recognition comes from world leading online hotel search site trivago.com.au, which has developed the top 30 Australian Best Value Index.

The website has compiled a list of the best value destinations in Australia for 2015 and Coffs Harbour came in at number 19.

Based on the annual average overnight price of a standard double room, combined with the destination's overall hotel reputation from over 120 million traveller reviews, Yamba and Merimbula filled the top two positions but Coffs Harbour wasn't that far behind.

Trivago spokeswoman Rebecca Delbao said the company has developed a computer algorithm to create the index.

The city with the lowest index in Australia is Sydney (due to how expensive it is to stay there), but at a 76.16% rating, it still beats cities such as Paris (68.62%), Los Angeles (64.16%), Hong Kong (60.34%), Singapore (59.99%) and London (54.27%).
