Wheatchix win three from three

IT'S always good to get the first game of the season out of the way.

The Wheatchix looked rusty against Condamine but the experience of Danielle and Karlee gave us some turn over ball which the under strength Condamine side could not defend against allowing Talhia to score two tries and Sarah cross over for one.

Despite Condamine scoring very early we beat them 17 to 7.

The Wheatchix have a good relationship with Goondiwindi and have a lot of respect for them, this time around though the Wheatchix showed them no mercy - defeating them 38 to 7.

Talhia starring with 3 tries, and Danielle, Sarah and Lidewij chipping in with 1 each.

The girl's defence when Gundy had the ball was the highlight of the game, marching Goondiwindi backwards on several occasions.

The third game was against UQ Gatton, who possess two potent wingers, which we tried to give no room to.

Great efforts from Rachael and Jen gave Danielle enough room for three tries and the new girls; Maddy, Chelle, Amy and Kim produced enough space for two more from Lidewij and Talhia.

Despite a late try from Gatton because of 3 injuries within a minute the Wheatchix prevailed 29 to 19.

It was great to see the new girls have a real crack in the last game but player of the day is a split between Talhia and Danielle. Thanks to the Dalby club for a fantastic event.
