What's going on with the roads in North Queensland?

There will be delays on the Bruce Highway near Mirriwinni as the road is resurfaced. Expect delays on all lanes until March 31.
Drivers heading southbound on the Bruce Highway are being asked to be wary of a large pothole.
The pothole is the southbound left hand lane approaching the Murray River Bridge near Murrigal.
The Mulligan Highway will have some delays at Desailly due to roadworks.
There are also roadworks on the Mulligan Highway at Lakeland.
Traffic is reduced to one lane on the Kennedy Highway at Tolga as roadworks are carried out.
The works between Northey Rd and Willows Rd are expected to continue until April 30.
The Burke Developmental Rd is closed to all traffic northwest of Chillagoe.

- Lakefield Rd, Lakefield
- Port Stewart Rd, Coen
- Peninsula Developmental Rd from Coen to Mission River
- Strathgordon Rd, Yarraden
- Koolatah Oriners Rd, Dixie / Maramie
- Dunbar Kowanyama Rd and Kowanyama Road, Kowanyama / Maramie
- Gregory Developmental Rd, Einasleigh / Mount Surprise
- Ella Bay Rd, Wanjuru
Roadworks are being carried out on the Captain Cook Highway as part of the Smithfield Bypass Project. The works started on December 4, 2018, and will run until December 31, 2020.
Traffic at Barron, Smithfield and Yorkeys Knob may be affected during this time.
Further roadworks are in place on Aumuller Street, Draper Street and Ray Jones Drives at Portsmith and Woree.
This is due to Cairns Southern Access Stage 4 and works will be carried out until December 24, 2021.
Stage 4 of the Cairns Bruce Highway Master Plan extends north from Links Drive to Aumuller Street near the Port of Cairns and wharf precinct, and will see additional lanes being constructed for this section, widening the Bruce Highway from 4 to 6 lanes.
