HAVE you ever had to drive through a dust storm before?

Britt Kay and her partner, who is a road train driver, were driving in outback New South Wales delivering hay to the state from South Australia when suddenly they found themselves driving through one.

"We have never driven through a massive dust storm before," Britt said.

"It's very rare.

"We really had to concentrate but it was very interesting to drive through it."

Britt, who likes to travel with her partner while he drives to take pictures of places in the outback, said while it was an interesting experience, they didn't expect it to go for three hours - all the way from Cobar to the Little Topar roadhouse.

The dust storm travelled through the middle of Australia to Sydney and Canberra, causing thousands of power outages.
