Peter Cordwell

WE WERE quietly having lunch at Kempton's 24 hour Mood Food Roadhouse/Truckstop when Richard Cordwell from Hobart rolled in to grab a quick cuppa on his way from Hobart to catch the Spirit of Tasmania at Devonport.

He was driving a 1992 Tasfreight Ford Louisville with a 400 Series 60 Cummins up front and was towing a fridge pan from Hobart and would then return.

He told us the Louie is a great old truck, it rides a bit like a vintage car, but in compensation they had given him a nice comfortable seat.

He has been with Tasfreight for 12 months and reckons it is a great job.

He also told us that the girls at Mood Food consistently make the best coffee he has anywhere on the highway.
