TRUCKING industry legend Peter Wickham didn't expect he'd ever become a singing sensation, but this week that's exactly what happened.

A Wickham Freight Lines Facebook video of Mr Wickham singing his song, The 60,000th Truck, has so far been seen more than 35,000 times. The video was filmed at the Kenworth factory in Bayswater, Victoria, in December.

Mr Wickham said he'd been stunned by the response.

"I'm told it's even gone all the way to America," he said.

"The phone has been ringing off the hook this morning, but no one has been sending any money just yet."

Mr Wickham said the song was simply the story of how Wickham Freight Lines started and grew.

"Everything in the song is gospel," he said.

"I just had to make it all fit together."

Mr Wickham said the Kenworth boss had asked him to write a song about the 60,000th truck.

"I thought I'd be singing it in the office in front of a few people, not in front of 600 Kenworth factory workers," he said.

"But the response afterwards was fantastic."
