Wasteful Tigers take out Demons

RICHMOND survived some woeful kicking to defeat Melbourne by 29 points at the MCG on Saturday.

In a poor-standard contest, the Tigers always had too much in reserve for the Demons, who kept fighting to the end before losing 13.23 (101) to 10.12 (72).

Richmond was dominant from the opening bounce, with 10 scoring shots to one in the first quarter, but wasteful shots at goal let Damien Hardwick's men down all day.

The Tigers had 12 behinds by half-time and the misses kept coming in the second half. Richmond spearhead Jack Riewoldt had 1.5 for the day.

The shining light for the Tigers was small forward Robin Nahas, who had four goals including three in the final term.
