Fashion centre stage at Warwick racing event

SPRING colours, flowers and the classic black and white were among the fashionable trends at Allman Park on Saturday.

A strong selection of local and visiting ladies took to the stage for the Rose City Shoppingworld Fashions on the Field at the Warwick Cup.

More than 30 fashionistas frocked up for the Best Dressed Lady category, with a strong field of competition.

No stranger to the Fashions on the Field, Danielle Brown was awarded Best Dressed Lady.

The stylish Toowoomba racegoer wore a dress by Sacha Drake and a fascinator by Allport Millinery.

"I just love the spring flowers out at the moment," she said.

"My outfit was inspired by the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers."

Fascinators in all styles drew plenty of attention at the Warwick Cup, with some extravagant designs leading the field.

The best and runner up millinery were both Sonlia pieces, worn by Karla Grant and Amelia Biggs.

Best Dressed Couple was Jim Wedge and Jackie Chard, who were the perfect match in black and red.

Judges Casey Beckhouse, Jessica Meikle and Kelli Black were impressed with the fashions.

"There was lots of colour - very spring carnival, bright and vibrant," Ms Meikle said.
