WALKED AWAY: Ute split in half after two-vehicle smash

TWO people have escaped with minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash which split a ute in half this afternoon.

Queensland Ambulance paramedics are assessing two people - both the sole occupants of the vehicles - at the scene of a crash at the intersection of Old Wyreema Rd and Caton St in Drayton.

Emergency services responded to reports the vehicles had collided shortly before 12.50pm.

The impact of the collision left a ute on its roof, and appears to have split in half as it overturned.

The other vehicle is believed to be a truck.

Both drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles, a QAS spokesman said.

Paramedics are assessing both drivers and they are expected to be taken to hospital as a precaution.

Initial assessments indicate their injuries are minor.
