Ray Stout

VETERAN truckie Ray Stout was sitting in the driver's seat of a Kenworth T650 when Big Rigs spotted him at Guthalungra on April 21.

The 62-year-old Ray works for Schmidt's Livestock Transport which is based at Brookhill near Townsville.

"I am heading down to Bowen to pick up cattle and will bring them back to Swift's Meatwork at Stuart," he said.

Ray likes the Kenworth and said the B-double could carry 48 big cattle.

"My son Jamie Stout is also a truckie for the same company," Ray said.

Several years ago Big Rigs snapped some pics of Jamie at the Dalrymple Sale Yards on the outskirts of Charters Towers.

Ray likes the chances of the Melbourne Storm in the NRL football but being a parochial North Queenslander hopes the Cowboys do well.

When he gets time off, Ray enjoys a drink or two of Stout.

"It is not a bad drop," he said.
