And just in case you're not a wizard with words or are suffering from dreaded writer's block, here are a few ideas to get the creative juices flowing.

• Say I love you. Nothing says I love you like I love you does. So say it. Even if you say nothing else.
• Compliment them. Tell them what it is you love about them and why.
• Describe the future you see with them. If you see yourself marrying them in the future, say so.
• Talk about when you first realised you were in love with your valentine.
• And how has your life changed since falling in love with them.
