FOR the last four years Brian Dale has called the Sunshine Coast home.

Next Sunday the traveling university student heads home to Norway, however he wanted to share a gift with his friends made on the Coast before he sets off.

Last night, on his 27th birthday (June 16) Mr Dale shared his final university assignment online with Sunshine Coast residents.

The time-lapse video which compiles more than a thousand photos is a tribute to the place he has called home for the last four years.

"As I am leaving this amazing place to start on a new adventure, what would be more fitting than to capture the scenic beauty and vibe of the coast and share it with you?" He said in an online post last night.

The non profit video serves as Mr Dale's final university assignment for his business and arts dual degree at the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Since sharing the film on Vimeo last night it has been viewed almost 1500 times and received plenty of praise from residents.

"The task was to make a three minute video of anything. I thought since it was my last semester what better way to do it than to create something that will help me to remember where I have lived for the last four years," he said.

Mr Dale, who lived in Cotton Tree during his stay, said the video opens with his favourite scene from the Coast, Cotton Tree beach.

While he's about to jet off on a plane back to Norway, Mr Dale assured he would return to his second home one day soon.
