HE'S a marriage celebrant from the Gold Coast and a former Mackay lad who found himself back in his home territory recently to officiate two weddings.

And in his spare time, Josh Withers takes photos.

This unbelievable gallery showcases the best of the Mackay region.

"I love to shoot photos and whenever I have the chance I will get my camera out," he said.

"These recent photos of Mackay were taken when I was visiting the region for two weddings I had been asked to conduct.

He used a drone to take the photos.

Josh grew up in Salonika Beach and then Mackay before he left the area when he was 22.

"It was great to come back, when I was younger I didn't realise how beautiful the Mackay region was.

"It was awesome to be able to come back and see it through a different lens."
