RIDESHARING service Uber is delivering ice-cream on demand tomorrow to raise funds for OzHarvest.

Using the Uber mobile phone app, people in Caloundra, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore and Noosa can order tubs of original ice-cream for $15 from 11am to 5pm on Friday, July 15.

Every tub of icecream purchased will help pay for five OzHarvest meals, which are provided to local people in need, an Uber spokesman said.

Celebrity chefs George Calombaris and Matt Moran, of Master Chef fame, have teamed up with Neil Perry - of Fresh - have each designed an exclusive flavour inspired by ingredients commonly wasted.

With a goal to fund 100,000 meals for vulnerable Aussies, Uber unleashed its "guilt-free blizzard of icy creamy goodness" across the nation this morning, the spokesman said.

The flavours

  • George Calombaris' Caramel & Walnut Baklava Smash
  • Matt Moran's Banoffee Crunch
  • Neil Perry's Spiced Cookie & Caramel Swirl

All of the ice cream flavours contain gluten and nuts.

How it works

You'll need an account on the Uber app, which you can download on your phone's app store.

Open the Uber app on Friday, 15 July, between 11am - 5pm.

Set your location and request the 'Ice Cream' option.

If successful, $15 will be charged to your Uber account and half a litre of ice-cream will be delivered to you within minutes.
