Two motorcyclists die in separate crashes with trucks

VICTORIAN Police are investigating a fatal crash in Epping last night.

Emergency services responded after a truck reportedly collided with a motorcycle in Produce Drive at about 10.45pm.

Police said the exact circumstances of the crash are yet to be determined and the investigation remains ongoing.

The male rider, who has not yet been identified, was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries. He sadly died in hospital.

The truck driver, a St Albans man, stopped at the scene and is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

In Queensland, a person also died after a serious traffic crash between a motorbike and truck on the Warrego Highway.

The crash happened on Tuesday at 6.30pm 3km from Minden.

Police said the bike was travelling eastbound when the rider attempted to overtake two trucks. The rider lost control, police believe, before colliding with one of the trucks.

The rider was pronounced deceased on the scene.
