Trucks collide on Gore Hwy south of Toowoomba

UPDATE: A small truck and semi-trailer have collided on the Gore Hwy between Pittsworth and Brookstead.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokeswoman said crews were called at 1.54pm to the scene 15km west of Pittsworth near the intersection of the Gore Hwy and Tummaville Rd.

A man was taken to Toowoomba Hospital with a possible fractured jaw and a cut to his face.

A lane of the highway was closed while the scene was cleared.

EARLIER: A small truck and semi-trailer have collided on the Gore Hwy south of Toowoomba.

Initial reports are that the crash has occurred 15km west of Pittsworth about 2pm near the intersection of the Gore Hwy and Pittsworth-Tummaville Rd.

The small truck is reported to have been transporting horses, while the semi-trailer was carrying concrete.

Emergency services are at the scene of the incident.

Both drivers are out of the vehicles. 

The westbound lanes of the Gore Hwy are blocked.

Long delays are expected for motorists.
