Troy O’Neill

YOUNG truckie Troy O'Neill had just brought an excavator to a suburban yard on an old International when Big Rigs saw him on November 29.

The 21-year-old was behind the wheel of the 1985 model International S-Line 2600.

"It used to be a bitumen truck at Winton for the local council there. I started driving it six months ago, out near Hughenden," he said.

Troy said the International had a 13-speed gearbox and was a trusty truck.

"It can be a bit rough to drive when empty and we are doing some work in a yard in Cranbrook here in Townsville," he said.

The truck is now owned by GJT Earthmoving which kindly lent the truck to Troy, who is a plumber by trade.

Troy has a pet female dog named Bindy, which is a 30-month-old Arab.
