Wally Hoffman

VETERAN truckie Wally Hoffman drives a Kenworth T600 powered by a Detroit 500hp motor for Darwin River Haulage of Brisbane.

Big Rigs saw the 59-year-old Wally on October 30 at the Bohle Little Acre north of Townsville and he had carried roller doors from Brisbane to Cairns.

"I have a backload of watermelons from Lakelands for down south," he said.

You wouldn't meet a friendlier bloke than Wally who has been a truckie for 30 odd years.

"In my spare time I go fishing off the Gold Coast for reef fish," he said.

His favourite roadhouse is the Choice at Gin Gin and the worst road he travels on is a part of the Bruce Hwy.

"It is really bad between Miriam Vale and Gin Gin but not too bad up this way," he said.
