Shaun Powell

SHAUN Powell was making deliveries at scenic Penguin beside Bass Strait in Tasmania when we met up on January 4.

The 35-year-old Shaun drives a 1990 Nissan UD for SA Belsak based at Spreyton near Latrobe and Devonport.

"I deliver juice, chips and other things between Burnie and Sheffield and it is a good job and I love this truck," he said.

He has been with the company which has three trucks for more than three years.

"I made nine calls here at Penguin today and make up to 30 sometimes," he said.

A sports fan, Shaun plays reserve grade cricket on weekends in the season for Devonport Club.

Shaun would be the envy of many mainland truckies as his run includes some of the Apple Isle's most scenic towns.

Penguin is aptly named because many birds of the same name live near the sea.
