Possum Sherrington

FORMER champion boxer Possum Sherrington enjoyed driving a Ford Intercooler on July 3 the day after the huge Townsville Show finished.

Possum was the foreman of the clean up gang which included seven people.

"We are picking up rubbish and there is lots of it. More than 70,000 people were here over the four days and the Ford is an absolute rip-snorter," Possum said.

The 55-year-old works for Bad Boys Promotions and said his boss Chris Condon was "the best bloke in the world".

Possum was a champion amateur and professional boxer in his heyday and still keeps super fit.

His son, 30-year-old Les Sherrington, is a chip off the old block, being a rising super middleweight who currently holds the World Boxing Foundation Super Middleweight title.

Possum said he enjoyed driving the Ford around the Showgrounds.

"They are good people here I am working with," he said.
