Truckin' in the Tropics: Marty O'Brien

WINTON born Marty O'Brien gets around north Queensland in a trusty Isuzu Sitec 200 as part of a four member gang working for Townsville based D&A Carpentry.

Big Rigs saw them have a lunch break in late December at Cutheringa Park in West End suburb with the Isuzu parked outside the home where they had been working across the road.

"We do a lot of work around Townsville and do also get south to Proserpine and Airlie Beach,” he said.

The 41-year-old Marty previously played rugby league football for Wanderers Club in Mt Isa and follows the NRL.

"I also enjoy a cold drink on a hot day and it is more than 30 degrees here now,” he said.

Marty said he likes meeting different people on his travels and also was impressed when told one of his workmates looks like Prince Harry.

Marty was looking forward to getting back to Winton to see family and friends.
