WHEN Garry Anderson woke up and climbed down from his Volvo FH16 sleeper box in seaside Cardwell he thought he was in "paradise”.
Garry works for Sawtells and had transported fertiliser from Newcastle to Cairns.
"I have been through Cardwell many times before but had never stopped. This time I had a break here and woke up and looked at the sea and thought I was in paradise. The view is magnificent,” he said.
Based in southern Queensland, Garry said he loved reading Big Rigs and had always wanted to get his pic in an edition.
"This is the first time I have seen anyone from Big Rigs whilst driving and I am glad,” he said.
Off duty Garry enjoys horse riding and is an avid supporter of the North Queensland Cowboys.
He has been a truckie for 28 years and one of his favourite roadhouses is the BP Cluden on the outskirts of Townsville.
