David Jenkins

WHEN we met David Jenkins on January 4, he had just returned to his 1990 model Ford Maxi rig after picking up supplies at the IGA shop in Smithton.

"This is a perfect truck for what I do, and serves me well," he said.

David is a plasterer based at Smithton in Tasmania, and takes his dog Marnie on the back of the truck when working.

"Marnie is a german shepherd cross and looks like a great guard dog, but will actually lick you when you come near the truck," he said.

David lives in a shack near Smithton and travels all over the region working.

"I get as far away as Launceston and Beaconsfield in the Tamar Valley," David said.

Having had the Ford for seven years, David hopes it lasts for at least another decade.
