FRIENDLY truckie Allan Sharp had carted frozen food from south to Townsville when Big Rigs saw him at the BP Cluden on June 28.
"I have a backload of fresh fish from here, and more to pick up at Guthalungra and Bowen for Brisbane," he said.
Mackay-based Allan drives a Kenworth K108 for Charter Refrigerated Transport and said he would swap with another driver in his home town who would travel south.
"The other driver will deliver the fish to the markets in Brisbane and some will go to Sydney and Melbourne," he said.
A truckie for most of his working life, Allan has worked at Texas in the USA delivering express freight.
"I drove a Freightliner and things were different over there to here," he said.
A former rodeo rider, these days Allan watches the sport when he can.
Life is good for Allan, who said he works in one of the most beautiful places in the country.
"It is a pleasure to live and work on the Whitsunday coast," he said.
