MAKING the most of the warm weather and family atmosphere at Newcastle was Toll Group driver David Beavan, with wife Liana and two-year-old son Chase.
David was showing his 2010-model Kenworth T408 SAR, which he operates out of Newcastle as a B-Double hauling ammonium nitrate in a tipper or tautliner trailer configuration.
Loading out of Kooragang Island at Newcastle, David's run takes him up the Hunter Valley and out to Cobar and Broken Hill, saying "it depends who the allocator is".
Initially working in earthmoving, David first got behind the wheel of an International S-Line 10 years ago and has been with Toll Group for the last four years.
David and Liana, along with Chase and five-year-old daughter Milia, head down to the beach in their spare time from their home at Anna Bay and David reckoned that they provide good supervision when he washed the truck on the weekend!
David was making his first run in the Newcastle convoy, and his was one of seven Toll trucks on show, with David praising the event, concluding: "We'll do it again, it's a great day".
"Everyone got in yesterday and helped each other out to get ready for today."
