Truckin' all over: Troy Booth

HAVING travelled down from the northern Riverina town of Goolgowi, Troy Booth had on display his 1998-model Kenworth T900 at the Oaklands event.

Troy purchased it in October last year, becoming the third owner of the truck which has spent most of its working life around Dubbo, Cobar and the western parts of New South Wales on B-Double and road train work.

"I had been wanting one for a long time so I finally bought myself one,” Troy said.

With around 2.8 million kilometres on the clock, the T900 has been a solid workhorse, with a Cat C 15 rated at 550 horsepower on an 18 Speed Spicer gearbox proving the motive power.

It is the third truck in the Booth fleet, taking its place alongside a Kenworth T601 and a Mack MCR cab-over.

All three trucks are deployed throughout western NSW on tipper work through the harvest season along with hauling water tankers for the Cobar Shire.

And Troy is really sold on his T900.
