OWNER driver Tony Wienert loves his trusty 1995 model Ford Aeromax which he travels around Australia in.
WA based Tony had stopped at the Puma Bohle in North Queensland when we yarned to him on July 21.
"I reckon the old trucks are far better than the newer ones and this Ford is a beauty. It runs well and is so comfortable," he said.
Tony had transported an excavator from Brisbane to outback Mount Isa and then a grader from there to coastal Townsville.
The 46-year-old Tony has been a truckie for 20 years and said he also does lots of road train work.
When he gets time off, Tony enjoys skydiving but doesn't follow any football team.
Tony also doesn't stop at many roadhouses except for fuel and said he carries most food with him.
"I have two small fridges, a microwave and also have a coffee percolator with me. So I am self-sufficient," he said.
