Truckies slam Greens push for banning trucks

"ALL this talk of banning trucks from here and there and no talk of lowering rego because you're not allowed to use 50 per cent of roads.”

Does Drew Carter have a point?

He discussed the Greens plan to ban trucks from Melbourne roads with other drivers on The Big Rigs Facebook page.

Craig Payne seemed to think the ban wouldn't matter anyway because he didn't think "B-doubles did the rat run thing through residential streets?”

"But a politician never let's the truth get in the way of a policy speech!” he wrote.

Andrew Williams thought it was wishful thinking.

"It's obviously just making it harder indirectly for the driver as now we will have to find other longer ways to have to show in our logbooks, making the fatigue issues even worse, which in turn puts safety of the public at greater risk.”

Jason Storm said: "They obviously think the trucks take the more difficult route because they have nothing better to do and actually want to go that way.”
