Truckies say no to Big Brother watching

'BIG Brother' surveillance of driver behaviour could be mandatory for all new cars sold in Europe.

But truckies were concerned it wouldn't stop at just cars - that trucks would eventually have the same technology embedded in them too.

Jamie Gavin couldn't help but think what that might mean for society.

"Why stop there though? Make sure the vehicles have listening devices and driver facing cameras in them too! Actually, let's put cameras and listening devices in everyone's home and office too! After all, if you're doing nothing wrong, you've got nothing to fear. Right? WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!! You are losing your freedom and dancing along to it. Big Brother can't be trusted.”

But, some people, like Kevin Macdonald, believed it was already here.

"They use it in downloads when they pull you up and insurance companies use it to try and get out of paying,” he said.
