THANKS to the combined efforts of generous truckies in Australia's south, an amazing $410,000 has been raised to help cancer patients.
The huge figure was raised at the annual Rise Above Cancer Convoy event in April.
Rise Above Capital Region Cancer Relief chief executive officer Melissa Gardiner said she was thrilled with the turn-out - and the results.
"We had about 450 trucks and 300 motorbikes take part in the convoy,” she said.

She said part of the money raised came from truckies who bid on their spot in the convoy.
The first spot in the convoy went to the generous Elvin Group, who bid a record $67,000.
"He just blew it out of the water,” she said.
Melissa said all of the money raised at the event would stay local.
She said it would help cancer patients with chemotherapy, medication, fuel, food and other things that were needed.
