Truck was involved in fatal crash

A MAN believed to be in his 60s has died following a traffic crash in Arriga (Queensland) yesterday afternoon.

Police said around 2.10pm, a truck and a car both travelling southbound on Mareeba-Dimbulah Rd came into contact as the car was attempting to overtake the truck. The car rolled and left the road.

As the truck pulled back into the left-hand side of the road, it came into contact with another car which had been travelling ahead of it. That car also rolled and left the road.

The driver of the second car, a 63-year-old Dimbulah man, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

While the driver of the truck, a 22-year-old Mareeba man, was not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and police said there was no further information available at this time.
