Oil leak causes suspected truck fire in Toowoomba

UPDATE: AN oil leak has caused a truck driver to suspect his vehicle was on fire.

Emergency services were called to the scene, halfway up the westbound lanes of the Toowoomba range at about 11.45am.

The oil leak caused smoke to come out of the vehicles engine.

The truck driver managed to pull over into the emergency bay.

One Queensland Fire and  Rescue crew attended the scene which did not cause a hazard to traffic.

 

EARLIER: A truck is on fire in the up-section lanes of the Toowoomba Range.

Emergency services received reports about 11.45am that a truck was on fire on the Warrego Hwy.

The truck is reportedly halfway up the westbound lanes of the Range.

Fire has broken out in the cab of the truck. The driver is reportedly out of the vehicle.

MONITOR THE SITUATION USING OUR TRAFFIC CAMERAS

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews are responding.

It is unknown what the truck is carrying.
