Driver walks away from road train rollover uninjured

A DRIVER is uninjured but 11 cows are dead, after a road train rolled on the Warrego Highway, about 12km east of Charleville.

Police were called to the scene just before 2:30pm on Thursday, to find the driver had not suffered any injuries after two of the truck's three trailers, which were carrying about 160 head of cattle, overturned on a straight section on road.

11 of the animals were deceased on when police arrived, and officers remained on the scene for hours after, directing traffic while local council workers freed and herded the remaining cattle.
