Trivago finds Fraser Coast hotels 12th best in state

HOTELS in Hervey Bay are ranked 12th best across the state for holiday makers, a Trivago study has found.

A spokeswoman said the results were based on averages from user ratings and review compiled from over 250 booking sites.

"Which is why you will find a lot of small businesses and boutique providers, as they tend to perform best when measured this way," she said.

Maryborough didn't miss out on the success.

The destination was ranked 26th most popular in all of Queensland.

But the overall winner was Akama Resort from Hervey Bay.

Chris Crause from the Akama Resort said it was "truly humbling" to be recognised.

"When our guests rate us highly, we know that we're where we want to be."
