Tree planting fun for kids
TO CELEBRATE the 20th year of Planet Ark's National Tree Day on Sunday, July 26, Bunnings Warehouse Bundaberg will host free Kids D.I.Y. Planting Workshops on Saturday and Sunday, July 25-26.
Expert team members will run a range of D.I.Y. planting activities, including craft pot decorating using recycled materials and planting pots and vegetables.
National Tree Day takes place every year in July and Bunnings is excited to be a part of the day and support Planet Ark's goal of providing Australians with an opportunity to do something positive for the environment.
"Teaching kids to have fun, learn and appreciate nature is critical to developing environmental stewardship. Bunnings Kids D.I.Y. Planting Workshops inspire children to get into nature," said Planet Ark's National Tree Day Manager Debbie Agnew.
Bunnings Warehouse Bundaberg Complex Manager Michael McLaughlin said the team are looking forward to kids of all ages coming in store to take part in the hands-on planting workshops.
"We're pleased to once again be celebrating National Tree Day and we know the kids will be really excited too, as they always love getting their hands dirty and learning about planting," Michael said.
