See the big five in South Africa's Kruger National Park -  lion, cape buffalo, elephant, leopard and rhinos - before overlanding to one of the greatest wildlife destinations in the world - Chobe National Park, Botswana, home to massive elephants herds and more than 440 bird species. Then continue to Zimbabwe and experience the incredible Victoria Falls.

Included in the tour are the game drives in Kruger, a guided tour of Victoria Falls, the sundowner Zambezi River cruise, a visit to the famous Soweto, a visit to Khama Rhino Sanctuary and much more.

The small group tour departs Australia on May 6 and returns May 19. Accommodation is in lodges, B&Bs and an African-built treehouse. The tour cost is $6390 per person twin share. The single supplement is $790.

The tour leader is the enthusiastic traveller Bel Roach. "None of our tours are extreme or heavy physically," Bel said. "The most physical activity is gorilla trekking, however, guests are moved into groups based on fitness and allocated a gorilla family that is 'usually' roaming closer to the departure point than others. 

"They have had a 92-year-old do the trek and others a lot younger be carried up and down by guides via a stretcher. Just so they could experience the mind blowing activity so I guess it depends on your mindset and general fitness.  My partner is a 'senior', turned 69 in October and he has done all of our holidays including gorilla trekking in Rwanda which we trekked 3.5hrs up through the jungle.  He's a bit of a legend though."
