Train and truck collide at Brandon

BREAKING: A truck and train have collided at Brandon, north of Ayr.  

Emergency services are rushing to the scene after reports a sugar cane-carrying locomotive and a hauling truck collided.  

The crash took place about 1pm.  

A spokeswoman for the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said bins from the train tipped over due to the crash.  

The occupant of the truck is believed to have minor injuries.  

"There are no reports of any fires or hazards," the QFES spokeswoman said.  

The crash took place nearby the Pioneer Park Speedway.  

Brandon is located in the Burdekin Shire about 82km south of Townsville.
