Trucks raffled off to help mum’s cancer fight

ALMOST two years ago, her community reached out to help Kellie Turner to fight the battle of her life.

Australian neurosurgeon Charlie Teo operated on Kellie, successfully removing the majority of her Oligodendroglioma brain tumour.

But, heartbreakingly, Kellie and her family's world was turned upside down again as an MRI revealed the remaining tumour was growing aggressively and was now tripe in size in one area, behaving like a Grade 3 Oligodendroglioma.

Although he couldn't perform it himself, Charlie recommended awake surgery with Dr Sughrue, a doctor leading the way in America with the advanced method of removing tumours in areas like hers.

However, the cost of surgery alone is $130,000 US dollars.

Since hearing the news, the community that came together to help Kellie two years ago, has rallied behind her again.

RGM Maintenance Townsville is part of that community and to help, is raffling a new Fuso truck in a bid to help save her life.

Raffle entrants will be able to choose between select models from the Built Ready range including Fuso Canter 515 Tipper or Canter 515 Alloy Tray models, selecting the version that best suits their needs.

The recommended retail value of the truck is between $53,887 and $58,884, depending on the model selected.
RGM Maintenance Townsville Greg Jackson said it was a great opportunity to offer support to Kellie and her family - and also win a fantastic Fuso truck.

"Kellie's husband Gary has worked with RGM for the past eight years and in the last two years we have witnessed their ongoing fight. So we have partnered with Fuso to do all we can to help with this current battle," he said.

Raffle tickets will cost $500 each and the raffle will be limited to just 200 tickets.

Raffle tickets are available for purchase here and Kellie will draw the winning ticket at the Townsville office on June 28.

There is also a GoFundMe fundraiser for supporters who would like to help the family but are unable to purchase a raffle ticket.

The raffle winner can choose from a Canter 515 City Cab short wheelbase with Duonic Automated Manual Transmission and alloy tray, a Canter 515 Wide Cab medium wheelbase with manual transmission and manual gearbox, a Canter 515 City Cab short wheelbase Tipper with Duonic Automated Manual Transmission or a Canter 515 City Cab short wheelbase Tipper with manual transmission.

Greg Jackson says he would like to thank Fuso for supporting the fundraising activities through the provision of a Ready Built truck in partnership with the RGM Dealer Group.
